AFRICAN HERITAGE WALKATHON
Saturday, May 26th 2007, the AFRIKAN HERITAGE WALKATHON, INC. in association with the Great Blacks In Wax
Museum, Everyone’s Place, St. Martin Church of Christ, National Association of Black Social Workers, Organization of
All Afrikan Unity, the Afrikin spiritual Love Ministry along with many other great organizations, will sponsor its fifth annual
walk.
Registration will begin at the Great Blacks in Wax Museum at 7 am. The walk will
begin promptly at 8:30am, Saturday, May 26th 2007. Walkers will proceed along North Avenue
to reach the end at Coppin State College. A festival program, which includes drumming, music and awards will take place at
the end of the walk
The theme of this year’s walk is " The Power of Unity".
The African Heritage Walkathon, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting community empowerment efforts
in the Black/Afrikan-American Community
The 2006 (4th) Afrikan Heritage Walkathon funds were awarded to the Great Blacks in Wax Museum,
to support production and exhibition of the statues of late Dr. Martin, co-founder of the Great Blacks in Wax Museum and late
Baba Dr. John T. Chissell, M.D., originator of the Pyramids of Power, who have served diligently, the Black/Afrikan-American
community during their lives here.
Our goal for this Fifth walkathon is to raise a minimum of $100,000 to support, collective activities that will generate
prosperity and cohesive empowerment among our people:
The Afrikan Heritage Walkathon invites the entire community to participate as walkers, sponsors, and/or support volunteers.
Organizations are being asked to provide Black/Afrikan-American Economic, Business, Health, Cultural, and Social Development
related information and services as vendors.
A festival program to include a keynote speech by Marshall Eddie Conway, drumming/music and awards
will take place at the end of the walk. Refreshments will be available and participants will receive a certificate of appreciation
and acknowledgement. Transportation back to the Great Blacks in Wax Museum will be provided for walkers.
